Space Tomato Project

Thanks to the Eco-Leaders YYC and Students On Sustainability at the UofC, we had the opportunity to work with students at James Fowler High School to assist them with their Space Tomato Project. Students from the culinary arts and science classes worked together to set-up a growing system using grow lights to replace natural sunlight. Recently we have introduced students to hydroponics using the “UpFarm” from Clear Grow Farms. Since starting the program in 2018, the project has been a success and they have received funding to purchase two permanent hydroponic grow towers for their school!
